Laminating Without a Laminator: Three Options
It’s sad but true: your paper documents aren’t really strong enough to withstand frequent handling. That’s why lamination was invented. However, you might think you need a laminator to protect your documents. Luckily, that’s not the case. Here are three alternative methods to try:
- Use clear contact paper. One way to laminate your documents is by using clear contact paper. Contact paper is typically used to line cabinets and drawers but it can be used as laminate in a pinch. Just remember to trim away any excess after your document has been laminated.
- Use clear packing tape. If you need to laminate small items like business cards, clear packing tape can help. Tape is cheap and easy to find, so it’s a good choice if you’re trying to stick to a budget. You need to apply the tape to both side of the item for the most protection.
- Use self-sealing laminating pouches. Finally, if you want to use real laminating film, you should consider using self-sealing laminating pouches. These pouches are easy to use and can make your documents and photos look like they were processed with a pouch or roll laminator.
Those are three ways you can laminate your documents if you don’t have a laminator. Try one of these methods out so you can protect your documents.
